I’ve been in the “Mane” game since 2001, and for over 15 years, I’ve been a licensed hairstylist with a true passion for healthy hair and growth. Throughout my journey, my goal has always been simple: to help people take better care of their hair and feel confident about their natural beauty.
I started my career at a full-service salon called The Braider, where I built my foundation in natural hair care and braiding. In 2010, I earned my Hair Design license from Phagans School of Hair Design. After becoming licensed, I had the opportunity to work at JCPenney Salon, where I gained valuable experience and learned the importance of professionalism, customer care, and working in a structured salon environment.
From 2014 to 2016, I stepped outside of the beauty industry and worked for a manufacturing company. Little did I know, that experience would later become an important part of my hair care journey.
When one of my daughters began experiencing hair loss, her doctor prescribed a shampoo to be used daily. Unfortunately, it left her hair extremely dry and stripped away its natural oils. As a hairstylist, I knew something had to change. I started researching scalp health, hair care ingredients, and natural ways to help improve the condition of her hair.
I combined what I already knew from years of hairstyling with what I learned from my manufacturing experience and began creating my own hair care formula. Through research, testing, and plenty of trial and error, I continued refining it to help with dry scalp, dandruff, breakage, and healthy hair growth.
I also continued watching the health and growth of both of my daughters’ hair. Over time, seeing the difference made me realize that I had created something special. The moment I knew I was onto something was when my daughters stopped reaching for their other hair products and chose to use mine instead.
In 2019, I decided to share my products with my clients and officially introduced the Lil Mama brand. The name has a very special meaning to me. “Lil Mama” was a childhood nickname given to me by a dear friend who sadly passed away just a few months after I began sharing my products with the world.
To make the brand even more meaningful, my youngest daughter designed the eye-catching Lil Mama logo. So, what started as something I created to help my own family eventually became something I could share with others.
Today, I’m still learning, creating, testing, and growing. My passion is to make quality hair care products using carefully selected ingredients while encouraging people to be consistent with caring for their hair and scalp.
This is more than just a hair care business to me. Lil Mama’s Hair Growth is a part of my journey, my family, and my passion for healthy hair.
